As spring returns, the "Sugaring off" season is in full swing in Quebec. Year after year, enthusiasts return to the Inn’s Sugar shack in order to taste the delightful maple products and to savour at will the typical meals of the shack.

The Handfield’s Sugar shack is resolutely traditional. This jewel of the Richelieu valley, in the Montérégie region, is built on a 42 acres centennial sugar bush in which more than 2,000 maple trees are tapped. In the center of the shack, visitors can also observe the evaporator where maple sap is transformed into sirup using the same know-how of yesteryears.

During the off-season, the Inn’s Sugar shack can be reserved for Holiday parties, barbecues, corporate days, family  reunions or for get-togethers  between friends.

Conferring a rustic charm to the building, the 4 barn board constructed rooms can accommodate families and groups of 25 to 300 members. The Sugar shack and it’s rooms are heated with fireplaces which give off the pleasant odor of burning wood.

In order to add to the festivities of the sugar season, nothing can be better than to let yourself go to the rhythms of traditional music. Every Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, our toe-tapping musicians have everyone dancing and singing.

To the greater joy of young and old, the Inn’s Sugar shack has over a kilometer of trails to be explored on foot and also has sleigh rides.
